Feeling confused about what to eat and not to eat?

There is a number of advice available regarding diet and nutrition both online and offline. At some point you may have come across terms such as macros, macro nutrients and healthy carbs. If you are feeling confused about what they mean exactly, read on to find out.

What are macronutrients?
Macronutrients - or macros as they are sometimes called - include carbohydrates, fats and protein. These three substances are crucial for our metabolic processes and are absorbed by the body through the food we eat. You get useful fat, for example, in you via peanut butter and protein you will find in everything from chickpeas to vanilla ice cream. Healthy carbohydrates are hidden in wholemeal pasta, vegetables and wholemeal bread, among other things.

In a balanced diet, micros are distributed as follows:
Carbohydrates: 50-65%
Protein: 15-25%
Fat: 20-30%
Depending on the purpose of exercise, your need for micronutrients changes. To find out exactly how much micros you just need to get in you - and how you should distribute these - you can enter and calculate your values electronically a little further down in the article.

Calculating your individual distribution of macronutrients
With the help of a macro calculator, you can quickly and easily calculate the distribution of macronutrients. It's not as difficult as it may seem: enter your daily calorie needs and choose a physical target image and we will help you with the rest. To calculate the distribution of macronutrients, you first need to keep track of your daily calorie needs. Zero check?
